Big up, 'cause I see nobody talked about PCSX2!!
PS2 best working (commercial games) emulator:

But don't excpect much.
Most of the "early" games works perfectly fine ( NTCS/PAL at max frame).
New games, either don't work, or are very slow ( frame rate under 10/sec)
Of course you'll need the bios to play.
And a DVD-rom player 'cause 99.99% of the ps2 games are on DVD. ( or go find the games on torrents! Ehem... You dirty little pirate!! )
NB:
This emulator has many plugins and sometimes a game that don't play good, only need a small plugin/update/configuartion to be really good. So go make a tour on their forum!! (And also see the compatibility list to see what games works!) |

I've tried on plugin config and epic failed to even play a single game. Got frustrated and deleted it.

What game(s) did you tried?
Did you saw the compatibility list on their site?

If it is, then try asking on their forum (but search before if the question is already asked ^^ ).
Personaly I have no real problems plaiying games that are in the compatibility list. Some have top notch frame rates ( 60 or so, even faster if you don't put a limit.), other are slow. ( ~30-40/sec) Other are catastrophic ( 5-10 per sec) |

why don't you try southwind psx2 emulator it works for all games
